Once upon a time,

in a land far, far away (or maybe just here in the neighborhood),

long, long ago (or maybe just a moment ago),

there was a woman — who forgot her own name.

It’s a bit strange and hard to believe,

because from the moment people are born until the moment they die,

most of the time, they are called by a name — and they answer.

Some are called Gili, Michael, Galia, or Or.

There are also Tzipi, Moshe, Amit, Tami, or Dror.

Some have names from other languages, like Muhammad, Boris, Menber, or Georgette.

And in most cases, with few exceptions,

a name is not something you can easily forget at all!

So how did it happen

that one morning

a woman woke up

and forgot her name?

“Sewn for Me” tells the story of a woman who visits a magical tailor to have a new name sewn for her.

A poetic and humorous play about names, identity, memories, and imagination.
