Don't be narrow-minded! Open your mind and find out what an open mind we have!

The special actors of 'Another Theatre' invite you to see that the outside doesn't always reflect the inside.

Open Mind – an outdoor performance performed by three actors from AKIM's " Another Theatre'. The performance challenges the audience to open their minds, to look at the world from a new perspective and to accept others and differences.

We'll reveal the thoughts and abilities in the minds of our actors - who represent the population of people with intellectual disabilities. The friends of AKIM are characterized by a broad worldview and openness, they're flexible, creative, have experience with new ideas and are always willing to learn and show unconditional love to everyone around them.

At first glance, the performance appears as three statues in the form of large stone heads inspired by a neutral white mask. But when the viewer tosses a coin to the living statue, music plays, the heads open, and from within, the actors emerge in an impressive and colorful way to perform the actions they represent: dancing, reading, making music, cooking, pantomime, magic tricks, singing, giving presents, giving kisses and much more.

The actors were involved in the planning and design of the performance under the direction of Sharon Gombosh and in collaboration with designer Itay Minai. The performance premiered at the International Festival of Living Statues in Rehovot 2023 and received an award.
